49er Racing - UNC Charlotte
Jan - Dec 2022
Collaborated with team members to design a safe, efficient, and reliable powertrain assembly to propel a small-scale Indy-style racecar in international collegiate competition. Personal primary focus was on optimizing the intake and exhaust systems for the 2023 car. Researched intake resonance, evaluated lightweight exhaust options, sized electronic throttle body, and created plenum design.
Conceptualized, designed, and prototyped a low-drag mirror housing for a NASCAR race team. Mirror was shaped in order to minimize airflow into the driver window.
Reverse engineered front and mid motor mounts for use in an XFinity car. Project consisted of replicating a full set of existing mounts in order to have them manufactured in house.
Reverse engineered hub sockets for use on Stewart-Haas rear hubs.
Designed and 3D printed a 2-piece window defroster for use in racing applications.
Designed and manufactured a 3D printed bed top vent to decrease team spending and keep weight low.
Designed and manufactured low cost switch guards to ensure switches are not accidentally toggled during driver entry/exit.
Designed TA monoball spacers for use under an XFinity car.
